Drive Bumthang – Wangdue

It is always difficult to say goodbye to Bumthang with all its richness and peace but today will see us return towards the west. We will take our lunch near the Chendebji chorten, a replica of the Buddhist chorten at Boudhanath in Kathmandu. Built in the 19th century on the banks of a rushing mountain river, the huge mysterious eyes on the top of the chorten stare out compassionately at all who come to pay their respects.

After crossing Pele La once more, we will descend to our riverside resort near Wangdue.
