Day 10
Drive Taklakot – Lake Manasarovar
This morning we will drive to the most sacred lake on the planet. On the way we will get our first view of Mount Kailash towering over the surrounding plains. We will camp on the shores of Lake Manasarovar below Chiu gompa: one of the four gompas around the Lake. There are hot springs at Chiu gompa where you can take a bath. You can also explore Chiu gompa or take a walk along the shores of Lake Manasarovar. The Hindu pilgrims traditionally take a holy dip in the Lake while the Tibetans avoid it. They do not like to get the Lake dirty!
