Day 17
Drive to Tirthapuri
Tirthapuri has strong connections with one of Tibet’s most revered Mystics – Padmasambhava or Guru Rinpoche. The hillside is dotted with caves, small gompas, mani walls and prayer flags and there is a smaller kora there that is a very beautiful walk. Tirthapuri sits on the banks of the river Sutlej: one of the four great rivers that has its source at Mount Kailash and has hot springs bubbling up from the earth for those who want a bath!
